Trying to Control the Social Media Chaos // BOOKENDING SPRING 2019 DAY 11

Created by Sam @ FictionallySam and Clo @ BookDragons, this event is about bringing the whole book blogging community together, under the umbrella term, “Bookend Events”.

Today’s prompt is hosted by Charvi @ Not Just Fiction (April 11-14): Trying to Control the Social Media Chaos – Share some tips on how bloggers should go about using their social media accounts in an organized manner or tell us how you manage your accounts without dying of exhaustion! Or should one just leave the organization aside and let chaos reign?

Since I’m still learning how to adequately maneuver my social media accounts, these tips and tricks can help not only you but myself, as well.

Set Times for Each Social Media Account –  I just started doing this (today) but I’ve learned that if you set apart 10-30 minutes on each platform, whether that’s commenting on other people’s platform, commenting back on your own, it helps to set a routine for you. You could do 5 minutes for Twitter, 10 minutes on IG, 5 minutes on Facebook (not that a lot of people still use it, but whatever!), and let that become a routine that helps your socials become more organized.

Join Online Book Clubs and Readathons –  I’ve found that joining Book Twitter’s readathons helps me become more social on social media. We forget that social media = social networking. Social networking ties into who or what you’re connected to, which is good for raising traffic towards your platform. Also, it helps to read books that others are reading so you can chat about them together. So more people can get to know you on a personal level.

Plan What You’ll Post –  I have a planner that I barely use outside of my day job. But this month, I’ve been using it more to plan out my social media and blog posts. It just works for a more smoother transition for what is to come on each platform.

Don’t Worry About Being Perfect –  If there’s one thing I’ve learned throughout this entire social-media process, it’s that you don’t have to worry about being perfect. You see so many of these perfect IG people, with their beautiful, stunning themes and photos, and you want to feel insecure because you don’t have that. I sure don’t! And it works out in your favor if you’re most genuine with your posts, and why you have that platform in the first place.
