‘Reality Check’ is Available Now!

My debut poetry novel, Reality Check, published yesterday on Amazon and Barnes & Noble, and I’m still excited about it!

Summary: Emotion, time and self are the most necessary parts of humanity. Emotion draws out the best and worst parts of people. Time is something that is never noticed, until it is. The self is the deepest part of the soul that a person can recognize. Reality Check is a poetry collection written during the 2020 coronavirus pandemic. These poems are how Danielle Pitter describes hope, love, family, healing and forgiveness.

Yesterday was a huge day, getting everything ready for the release, and making a cover reveal video. Honestly, the cover reveal video was the most challenging because I’m not a frequent social media content creator. I use it for connecting with other bloggers, writers and artists, but never as an “influencer”. So making this 30 second video took up most of my time, because the first video got deleted, the sound got copyright claims, taking the whole video down, and me stressing about my content not being good enough. Thankfully, my niece photographer, Aniya @ Angles By Aniya, pitched in some ideas to make the video stand out more. It all worked out in the end, and I’m proud of what I put out.

After so much thought, work and process into making this book, I’m so proud of it. I’m so proud of myself for stepping out of my comfort zone and writing a novel. Thank you to my team at Reedsy: Erin MCoy (editor), Margherita Buzzi (cover and interior designer), my blogger/writer friends (both on Discord and Twitter!), my family, and anyone else who has encouraged me on this journey. I can’t wait to see where this book takes me! 🥰

I’m also going on a virtual blog tour next month! Headlined by RABT Book Tours & PR, I’ll be going on a 2-week virtual tour full of with reviews, excerpts and interviews with blogger hosts on their websites. As someone who used to be a tour host for independent authors back in 2014-2015, it’s so nice to see how it all comes full circle for me now. I’m excited to see which bloggers sign up for what kind of tour spot on their blog.
