Affiliate Programs: Amazon & Audible

Have you heard of an affiliate program? I’m apart of several that help pay commissions per link or trial used.

What’s an Affiliate Program?

Shopify.com describes it as:

Affiliate marketing involves earning a commission by promoting a product or service made by another retailer or advertiser. It is a monetization model where an affiliate partner, which is you, is rewarded a payout for providing a specific result to the retailer or advertiser.

Typically, the result is a sale. But some programs can reward you for leads, free-trial users, clicks to a website, or getting downloads for an app.

Basically, every time you see me promoting a product or service, you click on the link I give you, you earn that service, and I get a small commission.

Why do we need to know?

I always want to remain honest with my readers about the affiliate programs I’m apart of, even if they don’t want to try out a free trial or click on a link. I know that when I support my favorite content creators, writers, bloggers, etc., then I’d want that same courtesy as a consumer. All I know is that it’s totally up to you to join anything I’m apart of.

The ones I’m apart of are:

Amazon Affiliates Program

This one is an affiliate program I come back to time and time again, and it’s really good service for those who do a lot of online shopping. This is a lot easier for me because all I do is promote specific product links from Amazon, a reader clicks on that link to buy the Amazon product, and I earn a referral fee.

Hubspot explains how it works:

Website owners create an Amazon Affiliate account on the platform.

Amazon gives each website owner a unique Associate ID.

Once the application has been approved, associates can begin creating affiliate links in their Amazon portal.

Associates then place the links in blog posts or other parts of their website.

Once someone clicks the link and makes a purchase, the associate earns commission.

Audible Affiliates Program

I use Audible all the time; it’s one of my stops for the best, most popular audiobooks, podcasts, and Audible Originals. Whenever I want to get a deeper understanding of an author’s writing voice, I turn to Audible. I get a better feel for what I’m reading, and it makes me want to hear more.
