#BESUMMER19 BOOKENDING SUMMER 2019 // Day 17: Sunburned Bookworms BOOK TAG

In case you don’t know, Bookending Summer is one of the quarterly events, running under the umbrella term “Bookend Events”, aspiring to bring the book blogging community closer together! Bookending Summer has a vague theme of Ocean, Beach, Vacations, Contemporaries (you know…Summer), but you DO NOT need to stick to this theme at all! Hosted by Clo @ Book Dragons and Sam @ Fictionally Sam

You can find all rules, info and prompts on Clo’s post HERE.

Today’s host is Erin @ Bluestocking Bookworm (15th-17th July):

PHOTO TAG – use books you have read or want to read this summer.

Book with a yellow cover or that made you laugh out loud (sunshine)
I haven’t read this one yet, but the color of this book is both beautiful and haunting.

Book with a red cover or that centers on anger (sunburn)
Ace of Shades just gives me this angry, scary feeling, and I haven’t even finished reading it yet!

Book with a green cover or that takes place in a green place like a jungle or forest (aloe vera)
Evelyn Hugo’s cover is just so gorgeous, with its 1950s vibe and Evelyn’s green dress as the centerpiece. It showcases beauty and mystery.

Book with a dark cover or that has heavy/dark themes (shade)

I’ve been reading this one on and off because of the cold feeling it gives me. It’s a Beauty and the Beast retelling, but most of the time, characters are super serious. I understand that the story is heavy, but with no music or cheery characters to reflect on for this retelling, then the whole plot remains stale. Maybe that’s why I still haven’t finished it? But anyway, the cover is cold, unfeeling and perfect for this prompt.

I tag you!! Which books are you tagging for this challenge? Comment below!
