Nostalgic Ships // #T5W TOP 5 WEDNESDAY

For those who don’t know what Top 5 Wednesday is, it’s a weekly book group about our top five favorite things in the middle of the week.

Created by Lainey from GingerReadsLainey and now hosted by Samantha from ThoughtsonTomes, this week’s entry describes the top 5 nostalgic ships.

February 6: Nostalgic Ships— Discuss the first fictional couples you ever got butterflies over, or couples you used to be really into when you were younger.

5. Mia and Micheal – The Princess Diaries
Before the movie came out, I fell into a bit of a Princess Diaries fad, where I’d read most of the books, followed each publication and read into Princess Mia and her high school boyfriend commoner Micheal. Micheal was also her best friend Lilly’s brother. And I remember how mysterious it was for Mia and Micheal to hide their relationship from Lilly, and Lilly finding out anyway, etc. It was both fun and overdramatic at the same time!
4. Mary-Anne and Logan – Baby-Sitters Club
I was all about Logan and Mary-Anne growing up, because even though they were a white couple, I saw Mary-Anne as this shy, awkward girl who had this amazing, understanding, patient boyfriend, and I just loved them so much!

3. Harry and Hermoine – Harry Potter
Even though Harmione isn’t a real ship, I shtill ship their friendship harder than I did when I was younger. Not only did Hermione support Harry on his journey, but Harry helped her out on a few times too, especially with Ron drama.

2. Hermoine and Viktor Krum – Harry Potter
Hermione and Viktor didn’t last very long, but they had a certain chemistry that blew me away. Viktor had this Durmstrang tough exterior; Hermione was the nerdy girl from Hogwarts. You wouldn’t think they’d fit but they did, at least for awhile.

1. Lena and Kostos – Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
Lena is another bookworm who’s shy and beautiful, kind and didn’t expect to fall in love with the mysterious and sexy Kostos Dounas of the enemy family in Greece. This kind of gives me a Romeo and Juliet type of ship, all forbidden but they stay together forever in love, so it works!

**Honorary Mention: Rose and Dimitri – Vampire Academy
I had to add an honorary mention of Rose and Dimitri, whom I was into back in high school, back when the vampire craze was going on. (Besides Edward and Bella from Twilight). I haven’t read the books since then, but I remember Rose and Dimitri’s angst was at an alltime high, and it almost made me stop reading the series because it was too much lol!
