DISCUSSION: Why my Favorite Booktubers are My Favorite Booktubers

I’ve noticed that my posts for the past year has been nothing but writing prompts and reviews, so I want to create more discussion posts about what I like within the book community. Whether that’s in booktube or blogging, I want to talk about other things in the community. Shoutout to Vivatramp for the 100 Book Blog Post Ideas!

Today, I want to discuss my favorite booktubers (people who discuss books on YouTube), in no particular order.

Christine from polandBANANASBOOKS –  Christine has been my fave booktuber pretty much since she’s started, back in 2009-2010. She’s very funny, smart, sweet, intelligent, creative filming director, and her skits are hilarious!! She’s in the midst of writing her first novel, Again, But Better, and I’m so excited for it.

Sam from Thoughts on Tomes –  I’ve been watching Sam’s videos for awhile now, and she’s one of those underrated booktubers who deserve to be hyped up, in my opinion. Her book reviews and discussion videos keep me thinking, and I love how she makes each video an open discussion for all.

Kat from Katytastic –  Kat has been in and out of the booktube world, but I still look forward to almost every video she puts out. She’s super sweet and funny, and her Cooking with Kat segments are hysterical!

Jesse from JessetheReader –  Jesse is pretty much the only male booktuber I follow, but he’s cute ok!! He’s cute and precious and his whooshing intros and outros are adorable. Plus, he does a book club with Kat and Christine called BOOKSPLOSION, and their collab videos are always fun.

Emma from EmmmaBooks –  Emma has become my top favorite for the past year and a half! She reminds me so much of my best friend Kim, she’s also a psychology major in school, and they’re both have such warm, bubbly, happy, positive personalities. Emma is an advocate for mental health and diverse reads, which is always a good thing in the book community.

Joce from SquibblesReads –  Joce has become one of my new favorites for over a year now! She makes videos about books of diverse backgrounds, settings and more. She’s another funny, intelligent WOC and I’m so glad I’ve begun to watch her videos.

Christina Marie –  Christina Marie has been another new fave WOC booktuber/beauty blogger of mine, and I’m just so jealous of her makeup looks on her Instagram!! She created Diverse-A-Thon, an event that helps promote and showcase diverse authors, books and more in the book community. We need more booktubers like her, to be honest. The ones who aren’t afraid to use their voices to affect change in their community.

Francina Simone –  Another powerhouse of a black female booktuber who does more than talk about the trends of booktube, but talks about the issues behind the community that not a lot of people have the guts to. Such as sexual harassment in the children’s literature; diversity issues in reading; and moral principles in the book world. If she had a Master Class for Books, I’d sign up!

Whitney from WhittyNovels –  I found Whitney from Diverse-A-Thon 2 years ago, and I checked out her videos right after, not knowing that I’d be sunken into this hole filled with journaling, mental health videos, #OwnVoices videos and more! That’s only a quarter of what she does!

I could go on and on about my favorite booktubers, but I’ll just stop here haha! If you don’t know these lovely people and their videos, check them out and let’s fangirl and watch together.
