BOOKENDING SPRING 2020 // DAY 1 – KNOCK OFFS

Bookending Spring returns with an all-new cast of hosts!!

I’m so glad that creators Clo @ Cuppa Clo and Sam @ Fictionally Sam have decided to bring this little event back this year. Regardless of how crazy this world has gotten this year, it’s good for the blogging community to come together for this quarterly event for the Spring season. I’m not a host this season, but I’ll still play along with you guys and participate as much as I can. I’m home all day now, so I got time!

Day one’s host is the lovely Sam @ Fictionally Sam:

Knock-Offs
Old books creating cobwebs and dust on your TBR? Create a list of backlists books you are attempting to finally get off your TBR this spring!

Children of Blood & Bone by Tomi Adeyemi
I’m about 90% done reading with this one, but for the longest time, I kept putting it off because of the length of this first novel. At least the action and character/plot-driven suspense and action keeps me on my toes for how this is going to end.

A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness
This is another one I’d been putting off due to the length. Also, the pacing is very slow. The characters are okay, but my god, the pacing needs to be picked up some!

Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng

I actually am about 60% done with this audiobook, but I keep pushing it aside to finish it. But now with the HULU series starring Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington, two actresses I love, I have a chance to finish it to follow along with the show.

A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer
This one has been sitting on my shelf for over a year, since its release, and while I’m not in a rush to finish it, I know I still want to.

Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire
I’ve heard so much about this book, so I can’t wait to read it already. I have a vague understanding of what it’s about but I still want to read it to see what the hype is about.

Ok so most of these reads are for the Magical Readathon OWLS 2020, but they’re still backlists because they’ve been on my TBR for the longest time. I just have a better excuse to read them now!
