Created by Sam @ FictionallySam and Clo @ BookDragons, this event is about bringing the whole book blogging community together, under the umbrella term, “Bookend Events”.

Today’s prompt is hosted by Sam @ Fictionally Sam (April 29th-30th): The Productivity Tag  An original book tag based on productivity!

  • Have fun!
Planning | A book that is completely thought out.
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. I know I talk about this book too much, but the way this book was so well-thought-out was one of the reasons I was so drawn to it.

Focus | A book that kept your undivided attention
Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng. I’m not done with this one (story of my life!) but the audiobook has kept my interest the most when I listen to it.

Delegating | A book that should have been a series
Homegoing by Ya’a Gyasi. STILL haven’t finished this book after starting it 2-3 years ago, but I feel like only one book isn’t enough to express and share this slave family’s incredibly long history. It starts with one, then goes on to another member, and their children and their children’s children, etc. It’s really fascinating and deserves at least a sequel or prequel.
Small goals | Name a book below 150 pages that you loved
Nocturnal Meeting of the Misplaced by R.J. Garcia. I actually dont know how many pages this was, but I still loved how different this book was. From the perspective of a teen boy with his sister shipped off to live with his longlost uncle and aunt, where he meets these kids who explore a murder mystery together.
Peak Hours | A series you could only read at a certain time
Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult. I feel like I have to read this book in the daytime, when the sun is out, birds are chirping, kids are playing, etc. because the book itself is so heavy and dense. Especially with the audiobook full of race issues and prejudice, it could become a juxtaposition with the brightness of the outside world.
Lists | A book that you finally crossed off your TBR
Cinder by Marissa Meyer. Granted, I did DNF this one, but I’m glad I at least gave it a shot to read.
Proactive | A book that is/was ahead of its time
Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins. This was published in 2010, but it was before its time. Since the 2016 elections came with the comparisons of Donald Trumpy and Hilary Clinton to President Snow and President Coin, Mockingjay is now being brought back into people’s minds.
Declutter | A series you wish you could unread
Both Fallen by Lauren Kate and Santa Muerte by Lucina Stone. Both awful books, boring books with no character development or structure. I wish I could unread these and wish I’d never even heard of them.
Multi-tasking | books that you read at the same time
If you look at my Goodreads Challenge, you can see all of the books I read at the same time, including The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, The Darkest Minds, Simon vs. the HomoSapiens Agenda, Monday’s Not Coming, Children of Blood and Bone and more! I’m too indecisive to stick to one book!
Tag, You’re It!
I don’t know who else hasn’t done this tag yet, so I’m tagging anyone else who is reading this post, who wants to do it!
And you too! If you’d like to do this tag, join us below in the comments with your books.
