#T5W TOP 5 WEDNESDAY: Favorite Fathers/Father Figures

For those who don’t know what Top 5 Wednesday is, it’s a weekly book group about our top five favorite things in the middle of the week.

Created by Lainey from GingerReadsLainey and now hosted by Samantha from ThoughtsonTomes, this week’s entry describes our top 5 favorite fandom items.

Since Sam had a busy month in May, we’re back to our regularly scheduled programming with all-new topics this month.
This week’s topic: Favorite Father Figures

June 13th: Favorite Fathers/Father FiguresIn honor of Father’s Day (in America at least), discuss some of your favorite fictional dads.

5. Luke Garroway – Mortal Instruments –  Luke isn’t Clary’s biological father, but he loves and protects her as if she is his own, and that’s better than any father can do.

4. Sirius Black – Harry Potter –  Again, Sirius isn’t Harry’s father, but he acted more like a father or fun uncle than Harry’s father did. Granted, Sirius was a criminal on the run from the law, but he really gave Harry a lot of insight and hope for a family.

3. Arthur Weasley – Harry Potter –  Harry and these father figures, my goodness! Arthur is Ron’s dad, but he serves as someone who gave Harry a home to come back to.

2. Charlie Swan – Twilight –  Aka the “famous ladies man” aka the best part of Bella’s family! I feel like in the books, Charlie wasn’t discussed a whole lot; he and Bella had their nice moments, but in the movies, you could really tell that he loved her and would do anything for her. He was the only human who got to kinda know about the supernatural world in the end, but he still went with it because he didn’t want to lose his daughter. I just love Charlie so much; he tried so hard to be a good dad.

1. Samuel Kingsley – The Sun is Also a Star –  Even though Samuel wasn’t the perfect father, he didn’t let his family get in the way of his passions. Even though Natasha pushed him to think outside of himself and not be so caged in, he didn’t want to impose his dreams so Natasha couldn’t find her own.

**Bonus** Carlisle Cullen – Twilight  –  Carlisle is seen as this strong, definite leader, but he has moments of compassion and love for his family, especially Edward and Bella, who are basically his kids lol. And Edward was his first companion, so they have a special connection. Carlisle is pretty much the last decision maker in the family, but he’s definitely the most important.
