Journo Portfolio Review

If you’ve been looking for a website that stores all of your written material for other websites, Journo Portfolio is the perfect spot for you. Not only is it a reliable space to collect all of your written work, but it allows the writer, author, blogger or any writing extraordinaire to feel confident in their collection.

Any type of writer can use Journo Portfolio to update their own style of work. Whether it be authors, journalists, copywriters, graphic designers, photographers and illustrators. Each portfolio page is tailored to the user’s desires.

I was never the one to know how to keep track of my written articles before using Journo Portfolio. I’d used to rely on my resume, cover letter and way with words to reassure recruiters and more to how my writing worked. Sure, having a cover letter and resume is great for basic understanding of how a writer is. The cover letter helps with summarizing your work for the reader, to get an idea of how a writer or creative has worked. The resume is a long-form version of what you have done in your career. However, it’s more important to have a collection of work that even more expresses how much you love your craft.

I’ve been using Journo Portfolio for years now, since 2014, and it’s been a great resource to store and keep track of all of my writing endeavors. What was once in my binders and paper folders are now stored into a digital space for everyone on the internet to see.

How Journo Portfolio Works

When you sign up, to add your first article, travel to the left hand side to the Articles tab and click the ‘+’ sign. From there, you can add a URL, PDF, Image, Video, Audio or Blog.

You can also add blocks to separate your articles and make it easier to categorize. and once you press ‘Save’, you’ll see your newly posted article on your website portfolio.

Pages & Media Library

You can also add pages to further separate your articles. If you have written for more than one publication, you can use Pages to make readers further understand your journey.

The Media Library is just a space for all of your photos that were processed per article transferred into your portfolio.

Backups

It’s always important to backup any data or information you have on the internet, in case something goes wrong. Trust me, it’s happened. Journo Portfolio allows your articles added by URL to be backed up automatically, depending on your subscription plan. Backups are accessed either as a PDF, the article link, or image. They come as screenshots, so if the original article is ever deleted (whether by an editor or yourself), Journo Portfolio has the key!

Subscribers

People can subscribe to your writing portfolio through your MailChimp subscriber audience feed. If you already have a MailChimp audience feed, it’ll be useful for you to sync a particular audience for them to see new articles added to the writing portfolio.
