BOOKENDING SUMMER 2019!! DAY 1: Books That Made My Temperature Rise

YAY Bookending Events is back!!!!

In case you don’t know, Bookending Summer is one of the quarterly events, running under the umbrella term “Bookend Events”, aspiring to bring the book blogging community closer together! Bookending Summer has a vague theme of Ocean, Beach, Vacations, Contemporaries (you know…Summer), but you DO NOT need to stick to this theme at all! Hosted by Clo @ Book Dragons and Sam @ Fictionally Sam

You can find all rules, info and prompts on Clo’s post HERE.

As for me, this will be my third (or fourth?) time participating, and this came at a perfect time because I haven’t been having the best time finding new topics to write about on this blog.

But anyway, back to the first prompt, hosted by Charvi @ Not Just Fiction  (1st-3rd July):
Books That Make Temperatures Rise
What are some books that make you hot headed with anger? List down some books that manage to get on your nerves for some reason or the other.

This is Me by C.E. Wilson –  I barely remember this book, but certain parts from it made me so mad and angry! Picture a world full of robot assistants living life with normal humans, fitting in, 2 guys fighting over the affection of one girl…it sounds promising, until you really dive into this mess of a story.

After They Go by J. Mercer –  This book was not only stressful, but a lot of parts got me angry. I don’t condone cheating of any kind, so when one of the 3 main sisters cheats on her fiance, I literally DNF-ed right then and there. Goodbye. Also, the premise of family drama over who gets to own the family store was good too, until I didn’t want to root for any of the 3 sisters.

Behesians by Isaiyan Morrison –  Another book I barely remember, but I do remember being so angry at the way the black/POC were represented. They were represented as these angry, crazy, borderline, manipulative witches. I’m all here for black characters in fantasy (even though I’m not a huge fantasy fan) but do us right.

Again, But Better by Christine Riccio –  I’ll always come back to this little mess of a book because y’all should have heard me screaming in my room when I’d found out a certain part towards the end. Like I said before, I don’t condone cheating, but when a certain someone cheats and lies about breaking up with their significant other through voicemail?! That character is trash to me! PERIODT! The rest of my time reading the book was spent speed-reading just to see how it would end.

Which books have made you all hot and bothered? Comment below!
