#BESUMMER19 BOOKENDING SUMMER 2019 // Day 8: Lemonade Stand Tag

In case you don’t know, Bookending Summer is one of the quarterly events, running under the umbrella term “Bookend Events”, aspiring to bring the book blogging community closer together! Bookending Summer has a vague theme of Ocean, Beach, Vacations, Contemporaries (you know…Summer), but you DO NOT need to stick to this theme at all! Hosted by Clo @ Book Dragons and Sam @ Fictionally Sam

You can find all rules, info and prompts on Clo’s post HERE.

Let’s jump right into the next prompt, hosted by Jeimy @ A Novel Idea (8th-10th July):
Lemonade Stand tag
An Original book tag to get you in the summer mood.

Sour – Name a Character that left a sour taste in your mouth. –  Richard Strickland, the antagonist from The Shape of Water, was such a horrid piece of a man. I’ve only seen the movie not read the book, but even then, I wanted him to die so fast. Plus, actor Micheal Shannon played evil Richard like no other!

Semi – Name a scene that was bitter-sweet – Starfish by Akemi Dawn Bowman was pretty bittersweet. I could tell Jamie and Kiko was on the cusp of getting back together after their breakup, but the story ended before we could find out for sure.

Sweet – Name a book ending that was too sweet for words. –  Daniel and Natasha’s reunion in The Sun is Also a Star was so sweet and cute and unexpected! I hoped they would meet up again after their separation as teens, but I didn’t think they’d meet up in a plane years later.

Slushie – Name a book that was completely refreshing –  Motherhood So White by Nefertiti Austin. I’m not done reading this book, but the way it addresses the racial politics and struggles of a black mother raising an adopted black boy in the US is so refreshing and eye-opening.

I tag you!! Post your links and answers below in the comments section!
