Mid-Year Freak-Out Book Tag 2019!

Before we get into this new post, I just want to say how incredibly thankful to each and every one of you whom had given me advice on my previous post. I really needed the encouragement to know that I can do this and I am interesting enough. Not just for you but for myself too. I’ve been feeling really down on my luck recently and needed to get all of that off my chest, and your guys’ encouragement and advice really helped me. So thank you! I love you guys!

So with that being said, I decided to try something different and do a new book tag! I haven’t done one of these in awhile, so it’ll be good to bring these back. It’s conveniently called the Mid-Year Freak-Out Tag, which works because I freak out about everything.

I don’t know who had originally came up with this tag, but I’d seen it on Jess @ crowingaboutbooks‘ page, so I’ll stick with that reference.

Also I know I probably should have done this in June, but oh well! 🤣

Best Book You’ve Read So Far
Turtles All the Way Down by John Green. I’ve obviously read better than John Green, but given that this was the first read of 2019 that I didn’t give up on right away, I’ll say that it’s the best so far. That could change, but that’s how I feel now.

New Release You Haven’t Read Yet, But Want To
I’m terrible with keeping up with new releases, but one I’ve been hearing about is Girl Gone Viral by
Arvin Ahmadi. I’m not much of a tech/sci-fi fan, but if the story sounds good, I’ll give it a shot. We live in such a technological, social media-driven world that this book may seem relatable to me.

Biggest Disappointment
I’ll have to say Again, But Better by Christine Riccio. Even though I gave the book 3 stars and I enjoyed the book overall, I now realized how much of a struggle it took for me to fully enjoy the reading. I went into a pretty lengthy review on the blog back in May, so if you want to check it out you can. But overall, I feel like if the delivery and execution of the storytelling was a lot stronger, then I would have enjoyed it more.

Favorite Blog Post Written This Year
I think it’s a tie between my posts Am I Uninteresting Blogger? and Why I Don’t Have a Review Policy. I’ve realized that everytime I have a breakthrough or breakdown on this channel, I have to write it down. Or else I’ll let the moment pass and I’ll feel even worse about it. But what’s even better is realizing that so many of you guys feelsimilar ways to me; it makes me feel less alone all of the time. Also, I get some good advice from you guys on what to do with these thoughts I’ve had building inside of me for however long. So again, thanks for caring and reading.

There were some other prompts left in this tag, but I decided to skip those because I didn’t know which books to choose for them. But I still hope you enjoyed my book tag!

I’m tagging everyone who hasn’t done this tag yet! Comment your books below!
