It’s Day seven of the Bookending Winter 2018 Event, created by Sam @ FictionallySam and Clo @ BookDragons. For more information on what the Christmas themed event is all about, visit my previous post HERE.
Today’s host is Imogen @ Imogen’s Typewriter from December 4-7. The prompt of the day is:
Prompt: Written by Elves! | Explanation: Santa’s elves spend their year making the presents for all the good girls and boys. Describe your dream book that they would write for you if you were very very good this year.
I had to really think about this prompt, because there are so many different aspects that I read that I would love, like the perfect contemporary or the perfect fantasy. I’d also like a book that has a fantasy with a world that is not too complicated, and female characters who are okay with being vulnerable, as well as being strong. I’d also love a cute LGBTQIA+ community book, with no homophobia, transphobia, misogyny, toxic hypermasculinity. Basically the real-world crap we deal with in the real life, it can’t be in my books.
As a bonus, I’d love to read more about travel, like characters who travel more, especially outside of the US. I’ve only ever been outside of the country a few times to visit Jamaica, my family’s home country, but I haven’t travelled further than that. So reading about more international travel could make me feel like I’m in another world.
