Sam’s Spellbound Covers // BOOKENDING AUTUMN 2019 DAY 29

Welcome to the last week of Bookending Autumn 2019. Sadness….

I know I haven’t done much of this round of Bookending Autumn, even though I was the first host during the first week of October. I’ve realized that most of the prompts were Halloween related, and as someone who doesn’t celebrate the holiday, it’s a little weird doing those kinds of posts.

But now that we’re winding down on the whole event, I thought it would be better to at least come back for the final week.

Hosted by Sam @ FictionallySam and Clo @ BookDragons!! If you don’t know what this event is, or you need a refresher, visit my last post HERE.

Host extraordinaire Sam @ FictionallySam is the host this week, with her next prompt:

– Tuesday 29th October
Spellbound
Top 10 book covers that had you so spellbound from its beauty that you bought/got them without reading what it was about.

And since I don’t buy books but borrow or save them from Scribd or Overdrive, here are some books I saved onto my profile because of their cover.

SLAY by Brittney Morris –  I have no idea what this book is about still, even after reading the synopsis, but the cover itself is full of young black female power!! All of the other flashy colors really drew my attention on this cover.

Wilder Girls by Rory Power –  At first I thought this was a tiger on the cover, but if you look closely, it’s a girl!! And then if you look at it from another angle, you can see some weeds or flowers growing from her face. There are so many perspectives from this cover that it makes my head spin.

Let’s Talk About Love by Claire Kann –  I don’t even know if I want to read this book anymore, but the cover of a gorgeous dark-skinned black woman drew my attention. As a black female book-lover, I feel a chill go through me every time I see a black woman powerhousing a cover by herself.

Red Sister by Mark Lawrence –  Magical assassin nuns. That’s all I got from this cover, and I had to have it. (Also, Sam from ThoughtsonTomes has said the same thing about this novel on her channel, which is funny.)

What are some books you bought just for the cover? Comment below!
