Destinations: Coming January 25, 2025
My latest poetry book Destinations is finally coming on January 25, 2025. It’s been such a long time coming, 2 1/2 years, in fact. I was originally going to publish this book this past Christmas, but the book wasn’t done yet. I thought this month would be the best time for it to come out. I’m glad that as an independent author, I can make the tough decisions regarding release dates easier.
Destinations: About the Book
Book Summary: Destinations describes a continuation of life experiences, such as Danielle Pitter’s first year of driving, being a first-time author, and a closer look into other relationships, like family, friendships and romance. What she has learned from writing these poems is that it’s okay to express emotions that others may find uncomfortable, like hurt, heartbreak, and disappointment. This book is for anyone who needs to unpack their messy thoughts in the same way as she has.

Destinations: Book Events
I have the African-American Read-In at Piscataway Public Library in February, where I’m reading some new poetry from this new book. I’m both excited and nervous for this event because while I’ve done poetry readings before virtually, this is my first time doing one in person. With my whole family attending!!

If you have read my first poetry book, Reality Check, then you’ll definitely enjoy Destinations. You don’t have to read Reality Check to read this new one, but it definitely helps in terms of context and how I was feeling back in 2021-2022. Where Reality Check was my firstborn book-child, Destinations is its little sister that it can protect and guide.
