Created by Sam @ FictionallySam and Clo @ BookDragons, this event is about bringing the whole book blogging community together, under the umbrella term, “Bookend Events”.
Today’s prompt is hosted by Haley @ The Caffeinated Reader (April 22nd-24th): Lending Books Versus Book Swaps – Lending books is either a great experience or terrifying, there is no in between, but what are the advantages and disadvantages of it and book swaps. Is one better than the other?
I don’t personally loan books, nor do I borrow from friends, because I’m so afraid that if I do, I won’t get the same book back. I’ve only book swapped once, and it was for a Secret Santa service. That was fun to do because it created a way to befriend new people and see which books we liked together. But on the other hand, if you’re swapped a book and can’t give it back because you don’t like it, then what do you do with it? Keep it or give it away again?
I suppose there is an advantage to lending books, especially if it’s to people you know you’ll get it back from. Also, it creates a closer bonding moment between yourself and the loaner, to talk about what they liked, disliked, could have made the reading experience better.
This post is super-short, only because I don’t know what else to say lol! But I hope this answers today’s prompt.
