#T5W TOP 5 WEDNESDAY: Favorite Covers

For those who don’t know what Top 5 Wednesday is, it’s a weekly book group about our top five favorite things in the middle of the week.

Created by Lainey from GingerReadsLainey and now hosted by Samantha from ThoughtsonTomes, this week’s entry describes our top 5 favorite covers.

September 26th: Favorite Covers— We’ve done this topic in the past, but with so many new, beautiful covers, it is time for an update!

5. Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi –  The first time I saw this cover was in a Booktube video, and I was in awe of how majestic and beautiful and powerful this cover was. The girl’s striking white hair against dark black skin was everything to me! At first, I’d thought it was fire on her head, but her hair?! Damn, what a captivating cover!
4. Song of Blood and Stone by L. Penelope –  My two favorite colors are purple and pink, so this cover just screams out to me. Plus, it doesn’t hurt having a black, natural girl on the cover.

3. A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray –  I haven’t read this one, but I liked the color because it creates an aesthetic of old-meets-new. I can turn over both sides of the cover and see a new world on the other side.

2. Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire –  This is another book I have not read but heard a lot about, on and offline on the internet. But the cover is both minimalistic and beautiful at the same time. I love how the door is ajar but the forest around it is still present. So no matter how many times you try to close the door on your past, it still comes back. Or am I just reading too much into it?!

1. A Thousand Perfect Notes by C.G. Drews –  Yet a third book I have not read yet, but the cover is both fleeting and gorgeous at the same time. It’s only half of a butterfly upon a white canvas, but something about it still has the power to draw me in. Maybe the “less is more” statement it’s making?
