Guest Posts, New Glasses and Honesty | JUNE 2018 WRAP-UP

IN REAL LIFE (IRL)

Nothing new happened this month, personally. Except me getting new glasses! My older ones were looking really run down, so I was lucky to have switched insurances to get a new pair.

Before                                After!

My new writing job is going good. It’s a little what I didn’t expect, but it’s still early to see where I have  place in the company. But my editor is really nice, very helpful whenever I have questions about blogging for her clients and other job duties. I’m just happy I get to do something within my field, for once.

Weekly Prompts

Book Blogger Hop – After participating in Book Blogger Hop for over a year, I finally got to ask my own question! I can’t wait to see everyone’s answers, especially my BBH buddies and new members. On June 22-28, I asked about how bloggers balance between working and writing on their platforms. Then, I continued participating with everyone else the week after.

Top 5 Tuesday – This is a new prompt I decided to join on because I got tired of not being able to come up with 10 books for Top 10 Tuesday. So I thought to try something easier, like Top 5 Tuesday, created by Bionic BookWorm.

Book Reviews, Blog Tours, Discussions

Guest Posts – I am so proud of myself in this portion of the wrap-up, because I participated in two guest posts from my favorite blogs, Nika @ Mylknhoney and Sheila @ She’s Going Book Crazy. I’m glad that I stepped out of my comfort zone to write about topics that I felt honest about.

In Nika’s post, I talked about why I had taken a long hiatus from writing. Not just blogging, but writing fanfics, poetry, and other things. In Sheila’s post, I discussed how book events could use more diversity, and the feeling of missing out (aka FOMO) on such events. I think I did a great job on both posts, especially this being my first time sharing parts of myself on other platforms. I’m also glad that some people felt like they could relate to my posts there. That’s the best part of it, that someone out there in the Internet universe reads my little post and feels some type of way. I just feel so lucky and blessed to be doing this and spreading my little platform someway.

Coming Up Next Month

I already posted some of the upcoming general posts for July, like Top 5 Wednesday/Tuesday, and other weekly prompts. I also have some blog tours coming up:

  • Fragments of Ash by Katy Regnery (Xpresso Tours)
  • 500 Words or Less by Juleah del Rosario (Rich in Variety Tours)
How was your June? I’d love to know in the comments!
