10. My Thoughts by John Stafford Reid – My uncle John wrote this little poetry book, so I hope he’s not going to be too mad at me not interested in this anymore! OOPS!
9. Signs of Attraction by Laura Brown – I initially wanted to read this for the ASL culture, but mehh… not so much anymore.
8. The Souls of Black Folk by W.E.B. DuBois – I thought of adding this in my TBR because I’d remembered this author from my college sociology class back in 2012, but since I’m out of school, I don’t need it anymore.
7. Black Iris by Elliot Wake

5. Where Am I Now? by Mara Wilson
4. Our Own Private Universe by Robin Talley – I’ve heard the lesbian/LGBT representation is pretty bad here.
3. Johnny and Jamal by K.M. Breakey – I got this ARC from the author who had emailed me about it last year, but the truth is, if you have to tell me that your book “has diversity” in it, it probably doesn’t. Plus, I’m starting to get annoyed with random authors contacting me about their books and explaining it in ways that seems like door-to-door salesman, like no.

1. Caraval by Stephanie Garber – I’ve heard a lot of mixed to negative reviews, and while I don’t rely on reviews to make reading choices for me, I still take them into consideration.
I think it’s good to talk about the books that you’re no longer interested in, because we as a community talk about the books that are coming in, or the books we cant wait to dive into. But we hardly talk about the ones we just don’t care for anymore. It gives you perspective on how to let go.
