Spicy Pumpkin Latte Book Tag
Autumn is when the beverage names at the local coffee shop start to look more like a harvest produce list than anything from a drinks menu. What better way to celebrate this oddity than to do an autumnal drinks book tag?
- Link back to the original post
- Thank the person who tagged you
- Do the prompts below
- Tag some friends
- Most importantly — have fun!
Note: I skipped some of these prompts because I couldn’t find books to match with them, but I hope you still enjoy my picks!
Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate: A book that felt like a warm hug
I’ll reiterate what Meeghan said about Red, White and Royal Blue; that book is so amazing and adorable, like a warm hug! Granted, I’m still not done listening to the audiobook, but from what I’ve read, it’s the cutest book ever.
Maple Pecan Latte: A book you enjoyed that was hard to get into
As much as I liked Again, But Better by Christine Riccio aka polandbananasbooks aka one of the OGs of Booktube, I had a real time getting through this book. I explain more of my struggle in my May 2019 review, but for the most part, I just didn’t love this book as much as I wanted to.
London Fog: A vanilla character
Harper and Prince Rhen from A Curse So Dark and Lonely have to be the most boring characters in the history of Beauty and the Beast retellings. I haven’t finished this one as of yet and I don’t know when I actually will, because their characters are boring! I give Brigid Kemmerer props for diversity because Harper has cerebral palsy, but other than that, Harper is boring. And in a fantasy/thriller remake, that’s kind of sad.
Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew: A character whose temperament is icy cold
Little Fires Everywhere is a book that gives an icy-cold feeling, considering that the environment is full of fake-nice white people in the suburbs of Shaker Heights, Cleveland.
Honey Bee Latte: A character who is sweet
Either Molly from The Upside of Unrequited or Simon from Simon vs. the HomoSapiens Agenda, both by Becky Albertalli are the cutest smolbeans in the world!
I’m tagging anyone who wants to do this tag. Comment below your favorite hot drinks too!
