About the Book Blogger Hop
The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer from Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, I relaunched the meme on February 15, 2013.
Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end on Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.
What author do you not read and why?
I have no animosity or hatred towards anyone; that’s not on my heart nor is it on my mind to do so. But in the same breath, I can’t get into EL. James and Colleen Hoover, for very different reasons.
E.L. James doesn’t even acknowledge that her work is of Twilight fanfiction, plus she disregards it in general. Which is a platform that many aspiring writers have grown to experiment on their craft, including myself. Not to mention, I read some of James’ Fifty Shades book 1, and it’s not very good. I couldn’t even get past the prologue….
As for Colleen Hoover, I feel like her books stem from internalized misogyny, borderline domestic violence and such. I haven’t read any of her books firsthand, but from the receipts I’ve seen online, her books aren’t pretty. They seem very problematic (and I hate using that word, but it works here).

what the HELL is wrong with an author who normalizes this type of abusive and controlling behavior in her books?

So even though I don’t hate anybody, there are authors I won’t read no matter how appealing they might be.
