This week’s topic: Top 5 Books I Want to Reread!
4. Starfish by Akemi Dawn Bowman – I read this excellent contemporary/anxiety read last year and I already know I need to reread it. Not only does it have plenty of social anxiety/anxiety rep, but also diversity with the female MC being Japanese-American. – My Review –
3. The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon – I also read this one last year, but I really liked this one. I liked how the female MC wasn’t likeable right away. Natasha took me about halfway to finally decide that I liked her as a character. The male MC was also a dreamer who had no idea what he was doing in life, which is so me! But anyway, the diverse rep (black female, Asian male) is an interesting pair that we don’t see too often in YA.
– My Review –
2. Under My Skin by Laura Diamond – I haven’t read this in a while, but I remember it being really sad and mopey, but still hopeful and insightful. Especially when the book is on depression, heart health issues, hospitals, difficult families, and losing loved ones. Definitely due for a reread.
– My Review –
1. City of Bones by Cassandra Clare – I’m technically reading the series over for Emma @ EmmmaBooks’ DREGS Society Facebook group. So a reread is needed; I just haven’t found the time for one with all the other books I’m reading. But I will reread, not just because I love Emma but I like the Mortal Instruments series as a whole.
