It’s been awhile since I’ve done a book review, so here I go!

Review:
This book was AMAZING!!!! I thought it was going to be like Becca Fitzpatrick’s “Hush Hush” series because of the angel/demons demographic, but it wasn’t like that at all. The setting is between Heaven and Hell, and the Angels who swear to protect humanity, and the demons who are determined to destroy it.
The story starts with Power angel Serah’s brother Samuel falling from Grace. Devastated, she wants to find out why he fell, and what made him fall, but the rule is that once an angel falls, basically move on and forget about them because they are no longer part of Heaven. But she is persistent in investigating her brother’s falling.
Serah is given a special duty given from God– to persuade Luicfer, Satan himself, to end this war between Good and Evil. And all this is to Lucifer, or Luce, as he likes to call himself, is a huge game. He keeps baiting her, cheating, lying, coveting her all for a simple game. And this frustrates Serah because as she’s trying to figure out his tactics, her lover and Archangel Micheal and best friend Hannah are skeptical as to why Serah wants to keep going back every day to the 7 Pits of Hell to figure this out.
The middle of the book dragged a bit when Serah and Luce kept playing the card game War over and over, and in the end, he cheated!! I was mad right along with Serah! LOL But then even Luce’s analyses of Good vs. Evil, and its never-ending battle. He seduced her into sex….I LOST IT! I lost it because I was so angry with Serah for giving in, but also I was scared for her because I knew she was going to get into serious trouble with everyone in Heaven, especially Micheal. And when she got back, all Hell broke lose– LITERALLY!
I was holding my breath while reading Micheal and Luce’s final battle because I had no clue who was going to win. They both had equal forces, but different outcomes of where they stood. But it was intense, nonetheless.
The last 10% of the book really got me, because for me, Micheal was so bitter over what Serah and Luce had done that he’d put a mark on her to slowly kill her. But Luce kept begging and pleading him to stop it; that was when I really felt his care and love for Serah– when no one else turned against him, she always went back to figure him out. Granted, she was frustrated with his games, but she still went back because she took a liking to him. And when Micheal almost killed her, Luce couldn’t take it. But it was too late; she had already fallen.
This book really made me think of what good and evil really represent in life. Not all are good, and not all are bad. We each have a bit of light and dark inside of us, what only matters is which side pulls us further.
