Patreon’s Choice: My Family’s Favorite Books

First, I started a new segment on my Patreon called Patreon’s Choice, where patrons suggest discussion topics for me to write about on both my main blog, and my Patreon page. For this first month’s Patreon’s Choice, one patron (who also happens to be my uncle John) asked me to talk about my family. Since this is a book blog at the end of the day, I asked my family about books they would live, breathe and die for.

Before we start the post, let’s play catch-up on some posts I did earlier this year:

Word Association Game: Books Edition

‘With the Fire on High’// Audiobook REVIEW

‘The Kiss Quotient’: 3 AM BOOK REVIEW

My Writing Journey // How I Got Started

Therapy Journey // What I learned from my first three months of counseling

Family – My nieces

Tamani: I recommend Untouchables by Sam Mariano. The suspense, the alpha-male possessiveness! Therefore, I just like dark romances in general.

Aniya: Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert T. Kiyosaki and Sharon Lechter. It teaches you all about being financially independent, financially stable, and things that school doesn’t always teach you.

Brandon, Aniya’s friend: The Bible.

Family – Parents

Mom: From Russia, With Love [by Ian Fleming]. I’m a huge James Bond fan, you know I love me some James Bond, so that one is definitely one of my favorites.

Dad: The Bible, because it has all the guidance you need for life’s journey. Certain scriptures have calming instructions to help you. Teaches about history and the origins of man, the love of God. The Bible is one of the most complete books, it teaches forgiveness.

Uncle John: It’s a book my grandmother had in Jamaica. 100 of the World’s Most Famous Paintings. (it included the famous Mona Lisa). They had paintings in there that were so realistic, they looked like photographs. I would love to get my hands on that today!

Books My Family Mentioned:

This was such a cool idea! I love how patrons can submit topic requests. And I love how you tied the topic into books. And everyone’s selections were so unique.
